Thanks for sharing. Great idea
Thanks Ted, wherever you are. I stumbled upon this when looking into Preval at the recommendation of a peer since I can't afford an airbrush at the moment. It was exactly what I wanted to know.
Buy some of the square magnets and file some slots in them so they can hold your frame down
Hello, I have little intention of making model painting my whole life hobby. But there are some minis I would like to repaint from a movie franchise I like. And if I get the hang of the technic I could probably use this for other art projects
You can mount the phone holder on the metal sheet for using magnets to have a larger work space too. Maybe just velcro would be sufficient. The small detachable piece could be screwed or glued to it for permanent use; still detachable if desired. Thanks for idea.
Where is part 2 of this
Im looking for clear window glue that wont fog, but not a second instant drying glue
I would like to see a real looking fuel block made
Are you on Facebook?
Thank you so much for sharing these tips.
I have seen that micro mart. You know what i bought a cookie sheet and some magnets. And i only spend around $15/16 dollars
Thanks for the glue up date new subscriber
Love you video Ted
So much better than Hobby Lobby guys - trust me! Things that go for $3.99 to $12.99, hell even more are just $1-$2 bucks at the dollar store (including really decent paints and model making tools, etc.)
"Take a tour of my scale model work area" (looks at thumbnail) You...made a scale model of your work area. That's extremely impressive! Seriously, I'm looking forward to checking out more of your channel. I'd like to get back into the hobby, but have a corner of a small apartment bedroom to work in. Any tip or idea helps!
Take the rotating connector apart and with a fine grit sandpaper sand the ball end lightly until you get the desired movement you are looking for
Might be good for a start to painting models. My local paint shop has these on sale.
Nice work but ANAL !
I use on 1-18 diecast cars
Nice. Howabout making a vid on tools you can build from scratch. :D
Hey Ted, are you still building? Always enjoyed your vids but haven't seen any in a long time.
It doesn't even work for me even after you take the bottom filter part you put in the spray bottle.
Smart idea with the lines. My magnetic glueing jig is 30 years old. It is worth the money.
Ted the convention of a primed model with painted detail parts was adopted by many after parts makers to make sure modelers can see where the details go and what they get for their purchase. And thanks for your email today!
Haha, I thought you were building a real one!! So I started watching I was confused then I realized it was a model! So I finished, good job!
Hi Ted I have been filling my needs using your products ( all excellent quality by the way) for awhile now and along with these videos, your advice, help and concern fr your customers and helped me beyond my expectations. Please keep going. I love your work area its one I think many everyday Joes can really relate to. lol Steven
Awesome shop sir!!!
We all weren't born under a rock we know what dollar stores carry. Lol
Awesome... on my way to Dollar General now!
Micro Mark is way to expensive on many small things for me. I should buy stock in the company, will be a millionaire in a couple of years. The closest Hobby Lobby is 45-50 miles either north or south so it is ebay to the rescue. Great vids Ted. Thanks
Hello there, it would be nice top see the comparison with the old one, without the hop ups, could you do it? And also, did you buy all those items together? Can you share the link of the store? Very nice video, thanks!
nice tip sir
Nice tutorial! Where did you buy this system from??
This system is available online at many locations including my scale model detailing site TedsModelingMarketplace.com. You'll find my prices are competitive and you'll be supporting someone in the model car building hobby.
Great video Ted.
It’s very ironic seeing this video. I just tried out the preval sprayer last week using testor’s enamel thinned with klean strip lacquer thinner. I used a 1:1 mixing ratio. I used 2 bottles of testors enamel paint and 2 bottles of the lacquer thinner and sprayed it through the preval sprayer and I will have to say I was very impressed with how well it sprayed and layed down. Great video ted. Glad to see we think alike. Lol. Glad to see your back making videos. Keep them coming.
Yes indeed - great minds think alike! Thanks for the comments and the 'welcome back'. In this video, I shot Alclad clear coat without thinning. I didn't know if it would work or not. The thinning instructions on the box are for real world paints and I don't think any paint for airbrushing would need to be thinned. Was the Testor's enamel you used from a bottle? I would think that type of paint would have to be thinned in order to shoot properly. The great thing about this system is that you can shoot colors and clear coats you wouldn't normally unless you have an airbrush. At around $6.00, I think this spray system is worthwhile if you only used it to shoot your chrome or other metal parts.
Hello ted, yes the paint I shot was testor’s gloss green enamel that comes in the little square 1/4 ounce bottles. I used a 1:1 mixing ratio, in other words I used 2 of the 1/4 ounce bottles of green paint and 2 bottles of the same size of cheap lacquer thinner, klean strip I believe it was. I really like how the preval sprayer laid the paint down. I’m gonna have to get a few extra bottles and maybe another sprayer as well. Thanks for the reply back ted. Hope you keep them videos coming.
Looks like the builder intentionally left some parts primer gray to highlight all of the new components from the Top Studio kit.
GREAT Tips TED Keep them coming, they are very helpful. THX
Your camera sounds like you got a room full of photographers taking pictures!😉📸📸📸📸📸heavy duty 420 you say???
Great idea
Hey Ted where do you get your decals for the MSD Magneto's
Hobby lobby small supper glue $2.00 you can use it all before it sets up
Did not think that Magneto's used a coil
Amazing Video Ted! Great job. Question? How do you cut the K&S aluminum tubing?
You did a very nice introductory presentation of the various glues and adhesives used in the model building hobby. You sound very upbeat and pleasant. Your tenor and tempo were right on the mark. Thank you for the tips on storing and using these supplies. I'm 61years of age and have been building models since I was 7 years old; that being said, you're never too old to learn some new tricks. I intend to view and listen to much of your model building instructional video collection.
Ted, I wanted to know where you got the stainless steel tube that you used to make your headers
NICE
do you know whether this kit would work for the MP4/8?
WTF? Only 4 dollar tree items!! Used for bait...
Great technique. I cant believe this video got any thumbs down
HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! Time to go to the dollar store. Thanks.
